This Earth Month, get crafty with your kids and make some upcycled art! We’ve looked high and low for affordable activities you can do with kids of all ages. Earth Month is a great time of year to celebrate spring and the environment!
Egg Cartons: When you finish a dozen eggs, save the paper carton. If you don’t eat eggs, ask a friend to collect a few for you. Then get to work with some of these cute ideas.
Egg Carton Dinosaurs: These will work for any age kids if they can hold a paintbrush. Put some newspaper on the table to cut down on messes!
Egg Carton Bugs: Mom or dad can help with the glue and cutting parts but kids can paint these little bugs.
Egg Carton Tree: A great way to celebrate Earth Month and a craft that should hold even a short attention span.
Clothing: After winter, you might have some clothes or accessories that are headed to the donation bin. Check out these upcycled clothing crafts you can put together with your littles instead!
Glove Monsters: Kiddos can help to cut out fabric for the face, or introduce your big kids to basic machine sewing under parental supervision.
Sock Snake: Kids can help cut the socks, but a parent will need to do the sewing!
Soda Tabs and Bottle Caps: If you drink a soda or other canned and bottled drinks, save the tabs off the top of the can for crafts like these cute, easy projects.
Pop Tab Ladybugs: Kids can use markers, non-toxic paint, and glue under adult supervision.
Bottle Cap Bugs: You can easily modify these to use all upcycled or recycled material if you don’t have the recommended material for the wings.
Paper Roll Tubes: In the age of Pinterest, everybody is saving their toilet and kitchen roll tubes, right? Try some of these adorable crafts for kids using the ubiquitous paper tube!
Toilet Roll Animals: The detail work on these critters is probably better for older kids or a parent, but there’s no reason little kids can’t freestyle whatever their heart desires.
Kitchen Roll Telescope: This craft comes with printables to make your own constellations!
